Australia vs Pakistan 3rd Test, Day 3


As Australia leading the 3 Test Match series as 2-0. The 3rd and the final test started at Jan 14th at Bellerive Oval , Hobbart.
Australia won the tos and decided to bat first.
Australia's Squad:
S Watson, S Katich, R ponting, M Husey, M Clarke, M North, B Haddin, M Johnson, N Hauritz, P siddle and D Bollinger.
Pakistan's Squad:
Imran Farhat, Salman Butt, K Manzoor, Mohammad Yousuf, Umar Akmal, Shoaib Malik, S Ahmed, Mohammad Aamer, Umar Gul, Danish Kaneria and Mohammad Asif.
Match Summary:
Day 1's Play:
Australia started their 1st innings with S Watson and S Katich. But Autralia lost their 3 wickets before reaching 100 runs mark. Their 1st wicket was Katich with 11 runs at 6.6 overs, 2nd wicket was S Watson with 29 runs at 15.6 overs and their 3rd wicket was Hussey with 6 runs at 20.2 overs. Then Ponting and M Clarke paired up and batted brilliantly and played till the end of Day 1. At the stumps of Day 1 Australia were 302/3 in 90 overs with R Ponting 137* and M Clarke 111*. Ponting got his century off 159 balls and M Clarke got his century off 188 balls.
Day 2's Play:
With their bat Ponting and Clarke added 352 runs in their partnership and at 122.6 overs Australia lost their 4th wicket Clarke with 166 runs. Then Ponting got his double ton off 342 balls . Then Australia declared their innings at 142.5 overs when they were 519/8. Their 5th wicket was Ponting with 209 runs, 6th wicket was Haddin with 41 runs, 7th wicket was North with 21 runs and the 8th wicket was Johnson with 8 runs. N Hauritz remained not out with 12 runs. With trailing by 519 run Imran Farhat nd Salman Butt started Pakistan's 1st innings. Before the end of Day 2's play Pakistan lost their 4 wicket. Their opening pair played well and added 63 run in their prtnership. At 22.2 overs Pakistan lot their 1st wicket Imran Farhat with 38 runs. After losing their 1st wicket Pakistan just added 31 runs to their board and lost another 3 wicket. Their 2nd wicket was M Manzoor at 22.6 overs without scoring any run. 3rd wicket was Mohammad Youuf with 7 runs at 28.6 overs and 4th wicket was Umar Akmal with 8 runs at 33.3 overs. At the stumps of Day 2 Pakistan were 94/4 in 36 overs with S Butt 34* and S Malik 4*.
Day 3' play:
Still trailing by 425 runs Pakistan started their play on Day 3. S Butt and S Malik batted well and added 129 runs in their partnerhip. After losing their 5th wicket Salman Butt with 102 runs at 78.3 overs, there were no partnerhip builed between other batsmens. At the end of their 1st innings Pakistan managed to score 301 runs by losing all their wickets at 105.4 overs. For Pakistan Butt scored 102 runs, Malik 58 runs and Umar Gul 38*. For Australia Hauritz & Katich each took 3 wickets, Siddle took 2 wickets.
Then leading the 2nd innings by 218 runs Austrlia started their 2nd innings with S Watson and S Katich, but Australia lsot their 1st wicket S Watson with 1 run at 1.2 overs. Katich and Ponting paired up and played till the end of Day 3 and Australia were 59/1 in 18 overs with  S Katich 33* and Ponting 25*.
