Hannover prepares for Enke's Funeral

The former Hannover and Germany's goalkeeper Robert Enke committed suicide on Tuesday evening by getting struck with a regional train travelling between Hannover and Norddeich at a railway crossing in Neustadt am Rubenberge. The reason behind Emke was his depression, the 32 year old Enke was suffering from depression since his daughter Lara's death in 2006. Teresa explained the media that he was suffering from depression since our biological daughter Lara's death , who died due to rare heart disease at the age of 2 in 2006 and was feared of loosing our adopted daughter if his illness becomes a public issue. The only thing that helped him was the football training. I always wanted to help him but he didn't.

Robert Enke's private funeral will be held with the public presence in Hannover's Neidersachsen on sunday, where the complete Germany team will make their presence along with 50000 mourners. Heading friendly match between Germany and Chile his being called off. This tragedy lives the world football in sadness and its not so easy for the world to come out of this. Let us too pray for his soul to Rest In Peace.

The group stage matches of UEFA Champions league kicks off today. The group stage matches will be held between 32 teams divided into eight groups with four teams each. The winners and runner-up of the groups enters the final round which will be in knockout format. The defeanding champions are Barcelona.

The prize money of Euro 5.4million is awarded to each team that takes part in group stage matches and a group stage is worth Euro 600,000 and draw Euro 300,000. Euro 2.5millions for the quater finalist, Euro 3million for semi finalist, Euro 4million for the runner-up and Euro 7million for winners. A large part of the distribution revenue is given to teams that holds a high value of television market in each country.

NEHRU CUP 2009

The Defending Champions India retains their Nehru Cup 2009 title by defeating Syria. The finals of Nehru Cup held today at Ambedkar Stadium, New Delhi between India and Syria in which India defeated Syria in a tie breaker as 6-5 and retained the title. After 90 minutes play the match ended up with 1-1 tie and the match went for tie breaker in which Sunil Chhetri, Climax Lawrence, Steven Dias, Abdul Razak, Surkumar Singh and Anwar Ali scored for India. The title winners India received a price money of US $40,000 and the runners up Syria received US $20,000.

UEFA Charged Eduardo

Arsenal's Eduardo, to be charged by UEFA for his indisciplinary action to win a penalty against Celtic on wednesday in second leg match. Disciplinary proceedings have been opened against him by the UEFA control and disciplinary body.

The charge is based on Article 10, paragraph 1c of the UEFA disciplinary regulations (misconduct of players) which states: "Players may be suspended for two competition matches, or for a specified period, for acting with the obvious intent to cause any match official to make an incorrect decision or supporting his error of judgment and thereby causing him to make an incorrect decision." If Eduardo founds guilty he will face a suspension of two matches.
