Australia vs Pakistan 2nd Test Match, Day 1


The 2nd test match between Australia and Pakistan started today at Sydney Cricket ground and it will be played till Jan 7th.
Australia won the toss and elected to bat first.

Australia's Squad:
S Watson, P Hughes, R Ponting, M Hussey, M Clarke, M North, B Haddin, M Johnson, N Hauritz, D Bolinger and P Siddle.
Pakistan's Squad:
Imran Farhat, Salman Butt, Faisal Iqbal, Mohammad Yousuf, Umar Akmal, Misbah-ul-Haq, Kamran Akmal, Mohammad Sami, Mohammad Asif, Umar Gul and Danish Kaneria.

Day 1's Play:
The match was delayed due to rain and started only after the lunch. S Watson and P Hughes entered the field to start Australia's 1st innings, but Mohammad Sami came well with ball and dismissed top 3 wickets of Australia. Australia's 1st wicket was P Hughes who went out without scoring any runs at 3.4 overs and Aus were 2/1, in the every next ball 3.5 overs Sami dismissed the Australian Skipper R Ponting who also went out without scoring any runs and the 3rd wicket of Australia was S Watson with 6 runs in 7.6 overs and Aus went 10/3.
At drinks break Australia were 25/3 in 14 overs with M Hussey 13 runs and M Clarke 3 runs. After drinks break Mohammad Asif gave another break through by taking M Clarke's wicket at 17.2 overs and Australia went 36/4. Then 50 came for Australia in 20.5 overs. At 21.5 overs Australia lost their 5th wicket M Hussey with 28 runs and went 51/5 and in the very next ball 21.6 Australia lost their 6th wicket M North with 10 runs and went 51/6. Again it was Mohammad Asif who took the Australia's 7th wicket B Haddin with 6 runs at 25.1 overs. At drinks break Australia were 67/7 in 27 overs with M Johnson 7runs and N Haurtiz 2 runs, after drinks break again rain delayed the match. Then 100 runs came for Australia in 36.5 overs between M Johnson and N Hauritz partnership.
Australia lost their 8th wicket N Hauritz with 21 runs at 37.4 overs and Aus went 106/8. Before drinks break Australia lost their 9th wicket M Johnson with 38 runs at 39.5 overs and went 117/9. After drinks they lost their last wicket D Bollinger with 9 runs and Australia managed to put only 127 runs on board and P Siddle remained not out with 1 run. For Pakistan Mohammad Asif took 6 wickets for 41 runs, Mohammad sami took 3 wickets for 27 runs and Umar Gul took 1 wicket.

With the trail of 127 runs Pakistan started their 1st innings with Imran Farhat and SalmanButt, when Pakistan were 14 for no loss match was stopped due to bad light.
