Idea Cup Tri-Nation Tournament- 6th Match, Bangladesh vs India


The 6th and final league match of the Idea Cup Tri-Nation Tournament between Bangladesh and India held today Jan 11th at Mirpur. Since India and Sri Lanka had already qualified for the final match, the played their last league match.

India won the toss and invited Bangladesh to bat first.

Bangladesh Squad:
Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Ashraful, Raqibul Hasan, Shakib Al Hasan, Musfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah, Naeem Islam, Abdur Razzak, Syed Rasel and Shafiul Islam.

India's Squad:
D Karthik, G Gambhir, V Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni, S Raina, A Mishra, R Jadeja, Sreesanth, S Tyagi and A Nehra.

Match Result:
India won the match by 6 wickets at 43 overs and V Kohli was named as the player of the match for his 102 runs.

Match Summary:
Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes entered the field to start their innings and Bangladesh were to loss their wickets in a regular intervals, Bangladesh lost their 5 wickets before reaching the mark of 100 runs, their 1st wicket was Imrul Kayes at 2.1 overs - 10/1, their 2nd wicket was Ashraful at 3.5 overs- 15/2. 3rd wicket was Tamim Iqbal at 13.2 overs- 60/3. Raqibul Hasan was the 4th wicket at 17.4 overs- 67/4. Their 5th wicket was Mushfiqur at 23.6 overs- 95/5. Then Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah paired up and added 106 runs to their board, at the end of 50 overs Bangladesh managed to score 247 runs by losing 6 wickets. For Bagladesh Shakib Al Hasan scored 85 runs, Mahmudullah 64* ad Raqibul Hasan 28 runs. For India Nehra picked 2 wickets and Tyagi, Sreesanth and Yuvraj each picked 1 wicket.

With the target of 248 runs Karthik and Gambhir started India's innings, the opening partnership played well and added 64 runs to the board, then every batsmen started to build partnership between them and main contrubution was from V Kohli who showed his brilliat performance once again. At 43 over India managed to attain their target of 248 and scored 249 runs by losing 4 wickets. For India V Kohli scored 102* runs off just 95 balls which includes 11-4's, Gambhir 41 runs, MS Dhoni 32 runs. For Bangladesh Naeem islam took 2 wickets and Shafiul Islam, Shakib Al Hasan each took 1 wicket.

The final match will be played between India and Sri Lanka on Jan 13th at Dhaka.

Idea Cup Tri-Nation Tournament- 5th Match, India vs Sri Lanka


The 5th match of the Idea Cup Tri-Nation Tournament held today at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur between India and Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat first.

Sri Lanka's Squad:
U Tharanga, T Dilshan,Sangakkkara, Jayawardene, Samaraweera, Kandamby, Perera, Randiv, Thushara, Welegedara and Lakmal.

India's Squad:
Karthik, Gambhir, Kohli, Yuvraj, Dhoni, Raina, Jadeja, Mishra, Z Khan, Sreesanth and Tyagi.

Match Result:
India won the match by 8 wickets at 32.4 overs. Z Khan was named as the player of the match for 3 wickets.

Match Summary:
As Sri Lanka elected to bat first, Tharanga nd Dilshan opened their innings, but they lost their 1st wicket at the very first of their innings and also Sri Lanka lost their 6 wickets before reaching 100 runs. Then Sangakkara and Randiv paired up added 59 runs between their partnership and Sangakkara went out with 68 runs and Thushara joined with Randiv and added another 59 runs to their board but they were not able to play the full 50 overs and lost all the wickets at 46.1 overs and scored 213 runs. For Sri Lanka Sangakkara scored 68 runs, Randiv 56 runs and Dilshan 33 runs. For India Z Khan and Mishra each picked up 3 wickets and Tyagi, Sreesanth and Yuvraj each picked 1 wicket.

With the target of 214 Karthik and Gambhir opened India's innings and they added 89 runs in their partnership, again it was Gambhir and Kohli who rooted India's victory. At 32.4 overs Yuvraj finished India's innings and won the match by 8 ickets. For India Kohli scored 71 runs and remained not out, Gambhir 71 runs and Karthik 48 runs. For Sri Lanka Thushara and Perera each picked 1 wicket.

Idea Cup Tri Nation Tournament- 3rd Match, Bangladesh vs India



Idea Cup Tri-Nation tournament his beign played in Bangladesh between Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka. In the first match against Bangladesh, Sri Lanka won their 1st match, the 2nd match was between India and Sri Lanka in that too Sri Lanka the match and led the points table with 8pts.

The 3rd match was played between Bangladesh and India at Mirpur. Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first.

Bangladesh Squad:
Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Mohammad Ashraful, Shakib Al Hasan, Raqibul Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah, Naeem Islam, Abdur Razzak, Rubel Hossain and Syed Rasel.

India's Squad:
G Gambhir, Sehwag, V Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Dhoni, Raina, Jadeja, Harbhajan, Zaheer Khan, Nehra and Sreesanth.

Match Result:
India won the match by 6 wickets and Dhoni was named as the player of the match for his 101 runs.

Match Summary:
Bangladesh started their innings with Tamim Iqbal and I Kayes, they oth batted very well. 50 runs came for Bangladesh in 7.4 overs and Tamim Iqbal got his half century off just 33 balls, not only the openers ut also the middel order batsmen too played very well which helped Bangladesh to put 296 runs on their board by losing 6 wickets..

For Bangladesh I Kayes scored 70 runs off 100 balls, Tamim Iqbal 60 runs off 42 balls and Mahmudullah 60 runs off 45 balls. For India Jadeja, Nehra, Sreesanth, Harbhajan, Yuvraj each took 1 wicket.

With the target of 297 runs India started their innings with Gambhir and Sehwag. But initially India went in a serious trouble by losing 3 wickets in 8.1 overs by scoring 51 runs. But after that its was brilliant work by Kohli and Dhoni with their bat who added 152 runs in their Partnership.

When Kohli was with 91 runs he went out at 34.6 overs and India were 203/4. Then Raina paired up with Dhoni and brought the victory for India in 47.3 overs. They both got 94 runs in their partnership and Dhoni got his 7th century off 107 balls. Raina too got his half century off 43 balls. At the end off 47.3 overs India managed to score 297 runs and to win the match by 6 wickets.. For India Dhoni scored 101 runs, Kohli 91 runs and Raina 51 runs. For Bangladesh Rasel, Hossain and Shakib Al Hasan each took 1 wicket.

Sri Lanka leading the points table with 8pts followed by India 4pts and Bangladesh with 0pts.

Australia vs Pakistan 2nd Test Match, Day 4


At the stumps of Day 3 Australia were 286/8 in 87 overs with M Hussey 73* and Siddle 10*.
At today's play the Hussey and Siddle pair batted very well and added 123 runs in their partnership. After starting today's play 300 came for Australia in 96.3 overs. Then Hussey made his ton off 195 balls which includes 14-4's. At the drinks break Australia were 333/8 in 104 overs with Hussey 105* & Siddle 21*. Then 350 came for Australia in 111.5 overs and 100 runsof partnership came between them in 214 balls.

At the lunch break Australia were 373/8 in 120 overs with Hussey 127* & Siddle 37*. After lunch Australia lost their 2 wickets by just adding 8 runs to their board, 9th wicket was Siddle with 38 runs at 124.6 overs and Aus went 380/9 and their last wicket was Bollinger who went out without scoring any runs. For Pakistan Kaneria took 5 wickets, Gul 3 wickets and Asif 2 wickets. At the end of 2nd innings Australia were 381 in 125.4 overs with Hussey 134*.

With the target of 176 runs Pakistan started their 2nd innings with Imran Farhat and Salman Butt, they lost their 1st wicket Imran Farhat with 22 runs at 6.6 overs and went 34/1. At drinks break Pakistan were 46/1 in 10 overs with Salman Butt 21* and Faisal Iqbal 3*. 50 runs came for Pakistan in 10.2 overs. Then lost their 2nd wicket Iqbal with 7 runs and Pak went 50/2. In the same over Pakistan lost their 3rd wicket Salman Butt with 21 runs at 10.6 overs and went 51/3. At the tea break Pakistan were 77/3 in 18 overs with Yousuf 19* & Umar Akmal 8*.

After tea break in the 19th over Pakistan lost another 2 wickets, 4th wiicket was Yousuf with 19 runs at 19.3 overs and 5th wicket was Misbah-ul-Haq who went out without scoring any runs at 19.5 overs and Pakistan 77/5. Then 100 came up for Pakistan in 24.4 overs and then lost their 6 wicket Kamran Akmal with 11 runs at 26.4 overs and went 103/6. At drinks break Pakistan were 107/6 in 29 overs with Umar Akmal 24* and Sami 2*.  

After drinks break Pakistan lost 3 wickets by just adding 28 runs to their board. Their 7th wicket was Sami with 2 runs at 33.5 overs and Pak were 133/7, 8th wicket was Umar Akmal with 49 runs at 34.5 overs and Pak went 133/8, their 9the wicket was Kaneria with 0 runs at 37.4 overs and Pak went 135/9. At the drinks break Pakistan were 135/9 in 37.4 overs with Gul 2runs. After drinks lost their last wicketby just adding 4 runs, last wicket was Gul with 6 runs at 37.6 overs and Pakistan lost their 2nd test match y 36 runs. For Australia Hauritz took 5 wickets, Johnson 3 wickets and Bollinger 2 wickets.

Match Result:
Australia won the 2nd test match by 36 runs, Player of the match award was given to M Hussey for his 162 runs(28 & 134*).
Through this victory Australia won the 3 match test series as 2-0.
The 3rd test will be played at Hobart from Jan 14 to Jan 18. Following this 5 ODI's will be played.

Australia vs Pakistan 2nd Test Match, Day 3


At the stumps of Day 2's play Pakistan were 331/9 in 96 overs with Danish Kaneria 2* and Mohammad Asif 0* and 104 runs ahead of Australia.

In Day 3's play Pakistan added just 2 runs to their board and lost their last wicket Danish Kaneria with 4runs at 96.5 overs and Pakistan ended their 1st innings as 333 in 96.5 overs. For Australia Bollinger took 4 wickets, Johnson & Watson each took 2 wickets and Siddle & Hauritz each took 1 wicket.

With trailing by 106 runs Australia started their 2nd innings with S Watson and P Hughes. The opening pair played very well, 50 runs came for Australia in 16.6 overs and Watson got his 50 off 100 balls with 6-4's & 1-6's. At lunch break Australia were 86/0 in 29 overs with Watson 51* and Hughes 31*. Then 100 runs came for Australia in 30.6 overs. Danish Kaneria came with the ball to give the 1st break through and got Hughes wicket, who went out with 37 runs at 31.6 overs and Australia went 105/1.
Then Australia lost their 2nd wicket Ponting with just 11 runs at 41.2 overs and Australia went 144/2. At drinks Australia were 149/2 in 43 overs with Watson 92* and M Hussey 4*. After drinks break 150 came for Australia in 43.2 overs. And it happened again to S Watson who missed his Century this time too, he missed it by just 3 runs short for it. He was the 3rd wicket with 97 runs at 45.5 overs and Australia went 159/3.
At tea break Australia were 199/3 in 56 overs with M Hussey 34* and M Clarke 17*. After tea 200 runs came for Australia in 56.6 overs . Then Australia lost their 4th wicket M Clarke with 21 runs at 61.5 overs and Aus went 217/ 4. M Hussey got his half century off 77 balls and Australia lost their 5th wicket M North with just 2 runs at 66.1 and Australia went 226/5. At drinks Australia were 227/5 in 68 overs with Hussey 52* and Haddin 1*. Then Australia lost their 6th wicket Haddin with 15 runs at 74.6 overs and went 246/6.
250 came for Australia in 75.3 overs, before drinks Australia lost another wicket Johnson with 3 runs at 76.3 overs and Aus went 252/7. At drinks break Australia were 256/7 in 78 overs with Hussey 59* and Hauritz 3*. Their 8th wicket was Hauritz with 4 runs at 79.2 overs. Hussey and Siddle paired up and played till the end of Day 3's play. For Pakistan Danish Kaneria took 4 wickets, Umar Gul took 3 wickets and Asif 1 wicket.
At the stumps of Day 3 Australia were 286/8 in 87 overs with Hussey 73* and Siddle 10* and leading the 2nd innings by 80 runs.

Australia vs Pakistan 2nd Test Match, Day 2


At Day 1's play Australia scored 127 runs in 44.2 overs and lost all their wickets, with the trail of 127 runs Pakistan started their 1st innings with Imran Farhat and Salman Butt. At the end of day 1's play Pakistan were 14/0 with Imran Farhat 9* and Salman Butt 3*.

In 2nd day's play Pakistan batsmen came well with bat and the opening partnership scored 109 runs. At lunch break Pakistan were 84/0 in 38 overs with Imran Farhat 34* & Salman Butt 26*, 100 runs came for Pakistan in 41.3 overs the first break through was given by N Hauritz who took Imran Farhat's wicket at 42.3 overs and Pakistan went 109/1, Imran Farhat scored 53 runs.
At drinks break Pakistan were 138/1 in 54 overs with Salman Butt 67* & Faisal Iqbal 7*. After drinks Pakistan lost their 2nd wicket Salman Butt with 71 runs at 56.6 overs and Pakistan went 144/2. Then 150 came for Pakistan in 59.5 overs. At tea break Pakistan were 190/2 in 66 overs with Faisal Iqbal 24* & Mohammad Yousuf 27*. In their Partnership almost 60 runs came and 200 runs came for Pakistan in 69.5 overs. Their 3rd wicket was Faisal Iqbal with 27 runs at 70.5 overs and Pakistan went 205/3.
Their 4th wicket was Mohammad Yousuf with 46 runs at 74.6 overs and Pakistan went 237/4. Then 250 came for Pakistan in 77.2 overs. At drinks break Pakistan were 256/4 in 78 overs with Umar Akmal 33* & Misbah-ul-Haq 8*. Before reaching 300 mark Pakistan lost 3 wickets, 5th wicket was Umar Akmal who went out with 1 run short off his half century with 49 runs at 84.3 overs and Pakistan went 277/5. Their 6th wicket was Misbah-ul-Haq with 11 runs at 86.1 overs and Pakistan went 286/6 and their 7th wicket was Kamran Akmal with 14 runs at 88.1 overs and Pakistan went 295/7.
Then 300 runs came for Pakistan in 88.6 overs. Then lost their 8th wicket Umar Gul with 12 runs at 93.5 overs and Pak went 323/8 and their 9th wicket was Mohammad Sami with 13 runs at 95.2 overs. For Australia D Bollinger took 3 wickets, M Johnson & S Watson each took 2 wickets and P Siddle & N Hauritz each took 1 wicket.
At the end of Day 2's play Pakistan were 331/9 in 96 overs with Danish Kaneria 2* and Mohammad Asif 0*. And Pakistan are 204 runs ahead.

Australia vs Pakistan 2nd Test Match, Day 1


The 2nd test match between Australia and Pakistan started today at Sydney Cricket ground and it will be played till Jan 7th.
Australia won the toss and elected to bat first.

Australia's Squad:
S Watson, P Hughes, R Ponting, M Hussey, M Clarke, M North, B Haddin, M Johnson, N Hauritz, D Bolinger and P Siddle.
Pakistan's Squad:
Imran Farhat, Salman Butt, Faisal Iqbal, Mohammad Yousuf, Umar Akmal, Misbah-ul-Haq, Kamran Akmal, Mohammad Sami, Mohammad Asif, Umar Gul and Danish Kaneria.

Day 1's Play:
The match was delayed due to rain and started only after the lunch. S Watson and P Hughes entered the field to start Australia's 1st innings, but Mohammad Sami came well with ball and dismissed top 3 wickets of Australia. Australia's 1st wicket was P Hughes who went out without scoring any runs at 3.4 overs and Aus were 2/1, in the every next ball 3.5 overs Sami dismissed the Australian Skipper R Ponting who also went out without scoring any runs and the 3rd wicket of Australia was S Watson with 6 runs in 7.6 overs and Aus went 10/3.
At drinks break Australia were 25/3 in 14 overs with M Hussey 13 runs and M Clarke 3 runs. After drinks break Mohammad Asif gave another break through by taking M Clarke's wicket at 17.2 overs and Australia went 36/4. Then 50 came for Australia in 20.5 overs. At 21.5 overs Australia lost their 5th wicket M Hussey with 28 runs and went 51/5 and in the very next ball 21.6 Australia lost their 6th wicket M North with 10 runs and went 51/6. Again it was Mohammad Asif who took the Australia's 7th wicket B Haddin with 6 runs at 25.1 overs. At drinks break Australia were 67/7 in 27 overs with M Johnson 7runs and N Haurtiz 2 runs, after drinks break again rain delayed the match. Then 100 runs came for Australia in 36.5 overs between M Johnson and N Hauritz partnership.
Australia lost their 8th wicket N Hauritz with 21 runs at 37.4 overs and Aus went 106/8. Before drinks break Australia lost their 9th wicket M Johnson with 38 runs at 39.5 overs and went 117/9. After drinks they lost their last wicket D Bollinger with 9 runs and Australia managed to put only 127 runs on board and P Siddle remained not out with 1 run. For Pakistan Mohammad Asif took 6 wickets for 41 runs, Mohammad sami took 3 wickets for 27 runs and Umar Gul took 1 wicket.

With the trail of 127 runs Pakistan started their 1st innings with Imran Farhat and SalmanButt, when Pakistan were 14 for no loss match was stopped due to bad light.
