New Zealand vs Bangladesh 1st Test Match Day - 1



The test match between New Zealand and Bangladesh started today Feb 15th and will be played till Feb 19th at Seddon Park, Hamilton. Visitors Bangladesh won the toss and invited the home team New Zealand to bat first.

New Zealand's Squad:
T McIntosh, B Watling, P Ingram, R Taylor, M Guptil, D Vettori, B McCullum, D Tuffey, J Patel, T Southee and C Martin.

Bangladesh Squad:
Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Junaid Siddique, Mohammad Ashraful, Aftab Ahmed, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah, Shahadat Hossain, Shafiul Islam and Rubel Hossain.

Match Summary:
Day 1's Play:
T McIntosh and B watling started New Zealand's 1st innings. But Shafiul Islam gave the initial break through for Bangladesh by picking McIntosh wicket at 5.5 overs when New Zealand were 17/1. At drinks break New Zealand were 38/1 in 11 overs with B Watling 9* and P Ingram 21*.Before Lunch New Zealand lost another 2 wickets, 2nd wicket was B Watling with 13 runs at 14.6 overs , then lost their 3rd wicket P Ingram with 42 runs at 18.5 overs and went 66/3. At lunch break New Zealand were 73/3 in 21 overs with R Taylor 6* and M Guptil 2*. 

After lunch 100 runs came for them at 30.2 overs. Then Bangladesh lost their 4th wicket R Taylor with 40 runs and went 126/4 in 32.5 overs. Then at drinks break New Zealand were 149/4 in 38 overs with M Guptil 31* and D Vettori 9*. After drinks 150 came for them at 38.4 overs and lost their 5th wicket skipper D Vettori with 10 runs at 41.2 overs. Then M Guptil and B McCullum paired up and played till the end of day 1's paly. Martin got his 50 off 85 balls with 7-4's. Then 200 runs came for New Zealand at 54.1 overs. 

At tea break New Zealand were 212/5 in 58 overs with M Guptil 62* and B McCullum 30*. After tea McCullum got his 50 off 63 balls with 8-4's. Then 250 runs came for them in 66.1 overs. At 68.1 overs Bad Light stopped the play. At the stumps of day 1 New Zealand were 258/5 with M Guptill 80* and B McCullum 58*. For Bangladesh Rubel Hossain picked 3 wickets and Shafiul Islam & Shakib Al Hasan each picked 1 wicket.
