Australia vs Pakistan 1st Test Match --- 26th - 30th Dec


Now Pakistan are in tour of Australia, who will be playing 3 Test matches, 5 ODI's and 1 T20. The 1st Test match between them was started on 26th Dec 2009 and played till today 30th Dec 2009, the match was played at Melbourne Cricket Ground. The home team Australia won the toss and elected to bat first.

Match Summary:
Day 1 26th Dec - Australia started their 1st innings with S Watson and S Katich, the opening pair batted very well and scored 182 runs in their partnership. Australia lost their 1st wicket S Watson with 93 runs in 60.1 overs and Aus were 182/1, 2nd wicket was S Katich who also went out without making century and 2 runs short of it, he went for 98 runs in 74.3 overs and Aus were 233/2, 3rd wicket was R Ponting with 57 runs in 83.2 overs and Aus went 291/3. Then N Hauritz joined M Hussey as night watchman and the pair managed to play till the stumps of Day 1. At stumps Australia were 305/3 in 90 overs with M Hussey 37 and N Hauritz 5 in the field.

Day 2 27th Dec - M Hussey and N Hauritz played well and added nearly 90 runs in their partnership. Australia lost their 4th wicket M Hussey with 82 runs in 112.5 overs, Aus were 383/4 and their 5th wicket was N Hauritz with 75 runs in 127.6 overs, Aus were 454/5. When Aus were 454/5 declared their innings. With trail of 454 runs Pakistan Started their 1st innings with Imran Farhat and Salman Butt, Pakistan lost their 1st wicket Imran Farhat with just 9 runs in 12.2 overs when Pak were 26/1. 2nd wicket was Faisal Iqbal with 15 runs in 31.2 overs and Pak went 59/2. Then lost their 3rd wicket Salman Butt with 45 runs in 39.3 overs and Pak were 84/3. With 1 ball remaining in the 2nd day's play Pakistan lost their 4th wicket Mohammad Yousuf with in 48.5 overs. At the stumps of Day 2 Pakistan were 109/4 in 49 overs with Umar Akmal 10*and Mohammad Aamer 0*.

Day 3 28th Dec - In Day 3's play Pakistan lost all their wickets by just scoring 258 runs in 99 overs. Their 5th wicket was Umar Akmal with 51 runs in 60.6 overs and Pak were 159/5, their 6th wicket was Mohammad Aamer with 15 runs in 80.3 overs and Pak were 203/6. 7th wicket was Kamran Akmal with 12 runs in 82.5 overs and Pak were 215/7. Their 8th wicket was Abdur Rauf with 3 runs in 86.6 overs, Pak were 219/8. 9th wicket was Mohammed Asif who went out without scoring in 87.6 overs, Pak were 220/9 and their last wicket was Saeed Ajmal with 4 runs. Misbah stood not out with 65 runs. Pakistan Ended their 1st innings with 258 runs in 99 overs. With the lead of 196 runs Australia started their 2nd innings and on day 3's play they lost 3 wickets by scoring 111 runs in 34 overs. Their 1st wicket was S Katich with 2 runs in 6.3 overs and Aus were 15/1. 2nd wicket was R Ponting with 12 runs in 9.4 overs and Aus were 32/2. 3rd wicket was M Hussey with 4 runs in 11.1 overs and Aus were 40/3. At stumps of Day 3 Australia were 111/3 in 34 overs with S Watson 64* and M Clarke 21*.

Day 4 29th Dec - In day 4's play Australia declared their 2nd innings with 225 runs when theyt lost their 8th wicket. In 2nd innings it was an one man show for Australia, S Watson who scored 1120 runs and remained not out. With the Target of 422 runns Pakistan started their 2nd innings with Imran Farhat and Salman Butt, and they lost top 3 wickets, 1st wicket was Imran Farhat with 12 runs in 6.3 overs and Pak were 18/1. 2nd wicket was S Butt with 33 runs in 22.2 overs and Pak were 80/2. 3rd wicket was Faisal Iqbal with 48 runs in 31.3 overs and Pak were 116/3.At the stumps of day 4 Pakistan were 170/3 in 45 overs with Mohammad Yousuf 45* and Umar Akmal 27*.

Day 5 30th Dec - Pakistan were not able sustain Aussies bowling attack and lost their remaining 7 wickets on Day 5 and lost their 1st Test match. 4th wicket was Umar Akmal with 27 runs, 5th wicket was Misbah 0 run, 6th wicket was Kamran Akmal 30 runs, 7th wicket was Mohammad Aamer 0 run, 8th wicket was Abdur Rauf with 5 runs, 9th wicket was Mahammad Yousuf with 61 runs and last wicket was Saeed Ajmal with 10 runs.

In 1st innings for Pakistan Asif took 2 wickets, Abdur Rauf & Saeed Ajmal each took 1 wicket. For Australia Bollinger & M Johnson each took 3 wickets, Siddle took 2 wickets and Hauritz & Watson each took 1 wicket.

In 2nd innings for Pakistan Mohammad Aamer took 5 wickets, Asif & Ajmal each took 1 wicket. For Australia Hauritz took 5 wickets, Johnson took 3 wickets and Bollinger took 2 wickets.

2nd Test match will be played from 3rd Jan to 7th Jan 2010 at Sydney.

India wins ODI Series against Sri Lanka


India won the 5 match ODI series against Sri Lanka as 3-1 and one more game yet to be played.
The 1st ODI match was played at Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Ground, Rajkot on 15th Dec and India won the match by 3 runs. Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to field, India scored 414 runs in 50 overs with Sehwag 146 runs. Sri Lanka scored 411 runs with Dilshan 160 runs and lost the match by just 3 runs.Sehwag was named the Player of the match and India led series 1-0.
2nd ODI was played at Nagpur on 18th Dec in which Sri Lanka won the match by 3 wickets. India won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 301 runs with Dhoni scoring 107 runs. With the target of 302 Sri Lanka batted well and attained it at 49.1 overs with Dilshan 123. The Player of the match award was given to Dilshan and Sri Lanka level series as 1-1.
3rd ODI was played at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack on 21st Dec in which India won the match by 7 wickets. Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first but was able to score only 239 runs and lost all their wickets in 44.2 overs with Tharanga 73 runs. India Drawn the T20I Series against Sri Lanka


Sri Lanka won the 1st T20I match against India by 30 runs on Dec 9th and led the series 1-0. The 2nd T20I match between India and Sri Lanka was played today in Mohali, Chandigarh.
Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat first.

India's Squad :
G Gambhir, V Sehwag, MS Dhoni, Y Singh, S Raina, D Karthik, Y Pathan, R Jadeja, I Sharma, A Nehra, and S Tyagi. For there was three changes in the Playing XI D Karthik replaced R Sharma, R Jadeja replaced P Ojha and S Tyagi replaced A Dinda.

Sri Lanka's Squad :
T Dilshan, S Jayasuriya, K Sangakkara, M Jayawardene, C Kapugedera, A Mathews, C Jayasinghe, K Weeraratne, N Kulasekara, D Fernando and L Malinga. In Sri Lankan side there was only one change K Weeraratne replaced M Pushpakumar.

Match Summary
India's poor fielding performance in the 1st match caused them a loss against Sri Lanka and in the today's match it continued and there was no any improvement in the fielding department, which allowed the Sri Lankans to score 206 runs in 20 overs. There was lot of misfieldings and many dropped chances from Indian side.

Sri Lanka started their innings with T Dilshan and S Jayasuriya, but the dangerous man T Dilshan went out in the second over by I Sharma with just 1 run. Then the skipper Sangakkara joined with Jayasuriya, it was the same kind of show from the skipper as of the previous match, he scored 59 runs with 8-4's & 2-6's. With good batting performance of Jayasinghe and A Mathews Sri Lanka were able to score 206 runs by losing 7 wickets. For Sri Lanka Jayasuriya scored 31 runs, Sangakkara 59, Jayasinghe 38, A Mathews 26* and Kulasekara 10*. India added 24 extras to the Sri Lanka's score. For India Y Singh took 3 wickets,I Sharma took 2 wickets and Y Pathan 1 wicket.

With the target of 207 India started their innings with G Gambhir and V Sehwag, the opening partnership added 58 runs. It was a good show from the Indian batsman's by which they were able to score 211 runs in 19.1 overs with 6 wickets remaining in hand. Sehwag and Dhoni added 50 runs and then Dhoni paired up with Yuvraj and they scored 80 runs in 36 balls which made their winning path more easier and India won the match by 6 wickets with Yuvraj remined not out with 60 runs. For India Sehwag scored 64 runs( 7-4's, 3-6's), Yuvraj 60* runs(3-4's, 5-6's) and Dhoni 46(3-4's, 2-6's). For Sri Lanka Malinga and Fernando each took 1 wicket.

All of whole it was a single man show from the birthday baby Yuvraj who scored 60 runs and bagged 3 wickets.

New Zealand vs Pakistan 3rd Test Match


The 3rd test match between New Zealand and Pakistan will be played at McLean Park, Napier from tomorrow Dec 11th till Dec 15th. New Zealand won the 1st Test Match in University Oval, Dunedin by 32 runs. Then Pakistan won the 2nd test match in Basin Reserve, Wellington by 141 runs to level the series as 1-1. The 3rd Test match in Napier will be the decider of this test series.

Sri Lanka won their 1st T20 against India


Indian's are failing to come out of their past T20 records and they are still contuning to be on the worst side and on the other side Sri Lankan's are holding their records. India's poor fielding performance cost them a loss against Sri Lankan's.

The 1st T20 match was played today at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur.
India won the toss and invited the visitors Sri Lankan's to bat first.

Match Summary
Sri Lanka started their innings with T Dilshan & S Jayasuriya and they both scored 43 runs in their partnership. In 6.2 overs Sri Lanka lost their first wicket S Jayasuriya with 26 runs. Then the skipper Sangakkara showed his brilliant performance with bat and scored 78 runs off just 37 balls. 100 runs came for Sri Lanka in 11.2 overs. Sri Lankan's gave good show and scored 215 runs in 20 overs by losing 5 wickets. For Sri Lanka Sangakkara scored 78, Dilshan 34, Kapugedera 47, Jayasuriya 26. For India Nehra, Dinda, Pathan and R Sharma each took 1 wicket.

Then with the target of 216 India started their chasing, after losing Sehwag's wicket too early Gmbhir batted very well and got his 50 off just 19 balls and he scored 55 runs off 26 balls. South Africa vs England ODI series



England were in tour of South Africa and they played their ODI series which includes 5 ODI's. The series started on Nov 20th and ended on Dec 4th.

The visitors England won the series against the home side South Africa as 2-1.

The 1st match was in Johannesburg on Nov 2oth which was abandoned due to bad weather and series level 0-0.

2nd ODI was in SuperSport Park,Centurion on Nov 22nd in which England won the match by 7 wickets. England won the toss and decided to field first, South Africa scored 250 runs in 50 overs with Petersen scoring 64 & Amla 57. With the target of 251 England started to bat and scored 252 in 46 overs with Collingwood scoring 105 * & Trott 87. Man of the match award was given to Paul Collingwood for his brilliant century and 2 wickets.

3rd ODI was in Newlands, cape Town on Nov 27th. South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first. After losing their 2nd ODI they fought back very well and scored 354 runs in 50 overs by losing 6 wickets. AB de Villers scored 121, Amla 86. Broad took 4 wickets. Then England failed to chase their target 355 and scored only 242 in 41.3 overs by losing all their wickets. P Collingwood scored 86, Pietersen 45. Parnell took 5 wickets. South Africa won the match by 112 runs and series levels 1-1. Man of the match award was given to AB de Villers for his 121 runs.

4th ODI was in St George's Park, Port Elizabeth on Nov 29th. South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first and scored only 119 runs in 36.5 overs, Petersen scored 51 & AB de Villers 22. James Anderson took 5 wickets. With the target of 120 England started their chasing and in 31.2 overs they scored 121 and won the match by 7 wickets. Trott scored 52* & Strauss 32. Botha took 2 wickets. Man of the match award was given to J Anderson for his 5 wicket haul. England lead the series 2-1.

5th ODI was scheduled to start in Kingsmead, Durban on Dec 4th which was abandoned due to bad weather.

By which England won the 5 match ODI series as 2-1.


Player of the Series award was given to Paul Collingwood.

India vs Sri Lanka 3rd Test Match, Day 5


At stumps of day 4 Sri Lanka were 274/6 in 93 overs with Sangakkara 133* & Kulasekara 9* and trailing the innings by 86 runs.

Today Sri Lanka resumed their play and lost their 7th wicket which was their skipper Sangakkara who went out in the very first over of Day 5's play by Z Khan, he went out in 93.3 overs with 137 runs and Sri Lanka went 278/7. Then Sri Lankan's tail end were not able to stay for a while and all went out by just adding 31 runs. The 8th wicket by Herath with 3 runs taken by Z Khan in 97.1 overs and Sri Lanka were 282/8. Then 300 runs came for Sri Lanka in 98.4 ovres. Then Sri Lanka lost their 9th wicket Nuwan Kulasekara with 19 runs in 99.5 overs , Sri Lanka went 307/9 and the wicket was taken by Z Khan. Then their last wicket was Muralitharan who scored 14 runs and went out in 100.4 overs by Harbhajan Singh. At the end of Sri Lanka's 2nd innings, they scored 309 runs by losing all their wickets and still trailing by 24 runs.

Through Z Khan's brilliant blowing India won the match without playing the 2nd innings, India won by an innings and also 24 runs. For India Z Khan took 5 wickets, Bhaji & Ojha each took 2 wickets and Sreesanth took 1 wicket. Through this victory India win the 3 Test Match series as 2-0. The player of the match award was given to V Sehwag who scored 293 runs in the 1st innings off just 254 balls. Also the Player of the Series was given to V Sehwag for his 491 runs which includes 1-50, 1-Century and 1- double century(16&51, 131,293).



Through winning this series India leads the world Test team ranking, this is the time for India to be in the Number #1 spot.

India vs Sri Lanka 2nd Test Match, Day 4


At the stumps of day 3 India Sri Lanka were 11/0 in 3 overs with Dilshan 3* & Paranavitana 8*. Sri Lanka trailing by 322 runs, started their 2nd innings today and scored 263 runs in Day 4.

India came very well with the ball and got Dilshan's wicket in the 9th over by Harbhajan, Dilshan went with 16 runs and Sri Lanka were 29/1. The the skipper Sangakkara and Paranavitana paired up and played very well and scored 90 runs in their partnership. At drinks Sri Lanka were 48/1 in 17 overs with Paranavitana 21* & Sangakkara 7*. 50 runs came for SL in 18.2 overs. At lunch break Sri Lanka were 84/1 in 31 overs with Paranavitana 42* and Sangakkara 22*.
After lunch 100 runs came for Sri Lanka in 39.5 oners and 50 runs came for Paranavitana off 134 balls. in 45.3 overs Sri Lanka lost their 2nd wicket Paranavitana with 54 runs and Sri Lanka were 119/2. At drinks break Sri Lanka were 125/2 in 48 overs with Sangakkara 44* & M Jayawardene 5*. Then 50 runs came for Sangakkara in 145 balls. Sri Lanka then lost their 3rd wicket M Jayawardene with 12 runs in 53.4 overs and Sri Lanka were 135/3. Immediately after losing M Jayawardene's wicket Sri Lanka lost their 4th wicket Samaraweera in 57.6 overs who went out without scoring any runs and SL were 137/4. Then Mathews joined with skipper and just scored 5 runs and went out in 60.5 overs and Sri Lanka went 144/5. 200 runs came for SL in 72.1 overs.and in 75.3 over.
At tea break Sri Lanka were 206/5 in 74 overs with Sangakkara 81* & P Jayawardene 30* and 64 runs came in the partnership of Sangakkara & P Jayawardene , Sri Lanka lost their 6th wicket P Jayawardene with 32 runs in 75.3 overs and Sri Lanka were 208/6. Then Kulasekara paired with Sangakkara and played till the end of today's play. 100 runs came for Sangakkara in 225 balls, 250 came for Sri Lanka in 85.5 overs. Then 50 runs came in the Partnership off 68 balls. At the stumps of day 4 Sri Lanka were 274/6 in 93 overs with Sangakkara 133* & Kulasekara 9* and still trailing by 86 runs.
For India Z Khan & Ojha each took 2 wickets, Sreesanth & Bhaji each took 1 wicket.

India vs Sri Lanka 3rd Test Match, Day 3


At the stumps of day 2 India were 443/1 in 79 overs with Sehwag 284* and Dravid 62*. By just 16 runs shot of his triple ton Sehwag entered the field with Dravid and resumed their 1st innings.
In Day 3's play India attained their mark of 450 runs in 81.2 overs and lost their 2nd wicket Sehwag who went without scoring his triple ton (293) in 82.2 overs and India were 458/2. Then they lost their 3rd wicket Dravid with 74 runs and India were 487/3. At drinks break India were 497/3 in 95 overs with Tendulkar 31* and Laxman 0*. After drinks break India reached 500 runs in 95.6 overs and at lunch break India were 536/3 in 108 overs with Tendulkar 48* and Laxman 16*, then 50 runs came in their partnership in 111 runs and then Sachin got his half century off 88 balls with 6-4's. 550 runs came for India in 113.1 overs and Laxman too got his half century off 79 balls.
Then India lost his 4th wicket Sachin with 53 runs in 114.2 overs and went 558/4. At drinks break India were 583/4 in 120 overs with Laxman 57* & Yuvraj 7*. Then lost its 5th wicket Laxman with 62 in 122.4 overs and went 591/5. 600 runs came for India in 123.6 overs. Before tea break India lost 2 wickets, 6th wicket was Yuvraj with 23 runs in 127.2 overs and 610/6, then lost his 7th wicket Harbhajan with 1 run and went 7 wickets down for 615 runs.
At tea break India were 629/7 in 135 overs with Dhoni 21* & Z Khan 3*. Then lost its 8t wicket Z Khan with 7 runs in 144.6 overs and were 647/8. In 145.5 overs India reached 650 runs. Then Dhoni scored his 50 runs off96 balls and before drinks break India lost his 9th wicket Sreesanth with 5 runs and were 670/9 in 151.4 overs. 700 runs came for India in 159.4 overs and then 50 runs came between Dhoni & Ojha's partnership in 70 balls which helped India to lead the innings by 333 runs. Dhoni got his century 100 runs off 154 balls and declared their 1st innings with 726/9 in 163.3 overs with Dhoni 100* and Ojha 13*.

For Sri Lanka Muralitharan took 4 wickets, Herath 3 wickets, Welegedara & Kulasekara each took 1 wicket.

With trailing by 333 runs Sri Lanka started their 2nd innings with Dilshan and Paranavitana who played till the end of day 3. At stumps of day 3 Sri Lanka were 11/0 in 3 overs with 322 runs behind India and both the openers remained not out as Dilshan 3* and Paranavitana 8*.

India vs Sri Lanka 3rd Test Match, Day 2



Sehwag's double ton(284*) helped India to score 400+ runs in the second day of the 3rd test match. At the stumps of day 1 Sri Lanka were 366/8 in 89 overs with Mathews 86* and Muralitharan 0*. Today Sri Lanka resumed their 1st innings and they were able to score only 27 runs and lost all their wickets in 94.4 overs. Their 9th wicket was Mathews in 92.4 overs who went out with 99 runs and Sri Lanka were 379/9. Then their last wicket was Welegedara with 8 runs in 94.4 overs with Muralitharan remained not out with 4 runs and Sri Lanka were 393.

With the trail of 393 runs Sehwag and M Vijay entered the field to start the 1st innings for India. Both the openers played extremely well, 50 runs came for India in 9.4 overs with Vijay 20* and Sehwag 29*, then half century came for Sehwag off 54 balls with 5-4's & 2-6's. At lunch India were 92/0 in 18 overs with Vijay 39* & Sehwag 53*. After lunch break 100 runs came for India in 19.2 overs. Then Vijay too scored 50 runs off 79 balls with 6-4's & 1-6's. Before drinks 150 runs came for India in 29.4 overs and at drinks break India were 167/0 in 31 overs with Sehwag 92* and Vijay 70*.
After drinks break Sehwag got his 17th test ton off just 101 balls which includes 13-4's & 3-6's. Then 200 runs came for India in 36.4 overs and in 39.1 overs India lost his 1st wicket M Vijay, who went out for 87 runs with 10-4's & 1-6's and India were 221/1. Sehwag and Murali scored 221 runs in their partnership and it was broken by Herath. Then Dravid paired up with Sehwag they both played till the end off 2 days play. 250 runs came for India in 44.1 overs and then Sehwag scored 150 runs off just 130 balls with 19-4's & 5-6's.
At tea break India were 260/1 in 45 overs with Sehwag 151* & Dravid 17*. After drinks break 300 runs came for India in 53.6 overs. Then before drinks break Sehwag scored his double ton off just 168 balls with 27-4's & 6-6's. At drinks break India were 330/1 in 57 overs with Sehwag 202* and Dravid 35*. Then 350 runs came for India in 60.3 overs. Then 150 runs came between Sehwag and Dravid's partnership off 148 balls. After the drinks break Sehwag scored 250 runs off just 207 balls with 35-4's & 7-6's. 400 runs came for India in 68.1 overs and then Dravid got his half century off 94 balls. At stumps of day 2 India were 443/1 in 79 overs with Sehwag 284* & Dravid 62*. 222 runs came between Sehwag and Dravid's partnership.


For Sri Lanka Herath took 1 wicket.

India vs Sri Lanka 3rd Test Match, Day 1


The final test between India and Sri Lanka started today at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai. As India lead the 3 test match series 1-0. Sri Lankan's are looking forward for a victory in this match to draw the test series.

Indian Squad - Sehwag, M Vijay, Dravid, Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, Laxman, Dhoni(cap), Harbhajan Singh, Ojha, Z Khan and Sreesanth.

Sri Lankan Squad - Paranavitana, Dilshan, Sangakkara, M Jayawardene, Samaraweera, Mathews, P Jayawardene, Kulasekara, Herath, Muralitharan and Welegedara.

The visitors Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first, Paranavitana and Dilshan entered the field to start the 1st innings of the 3rd test match for Sri Lanka. The opening batsmens played very well and constructed and 93 runs came between their partnership, at 19.5 overs Bhaji took the wicket of Paranavitana to break the partnership, Paranavitana went out with 53 runs off 81 balls and Sri Lanka were 93/1.
Then the skipper Sangakkara joined Dilshan, 100 runs came for Sri Lanka in 22.5 over and then Dilshan scored his half century off 57 balls, but Sangakkara didn't stay for too long and went out at 30.5 overs with just 18 runs and Sri Lanka were 128/2. Then M Jayawardene joined Dilshan and 59 runs came between their partnership and in 47.4 overs M Jayawardene went out with 29 runs and Sri Lanka were 187/3 and the wicket was taken by Sreesanth. Then Samaraweera came with bat and was not able to stay in the field and went out with just 1 run in 48.1 overs and Sri Lanka were 4 wickets down for 188 runs.
Then Mathews joined Dilshan and they both played very well, 200 runs came for Sri Lanka in 52.3 overs then after tea break Dilshan got his 100 off 139 balls with 10-4's and 2-6's. 74 runs came in their partnership, in 64.6 overs Dilshan went out with 109 runs and Sri Lanka were 262/5. Then P Jayawardene joined Mathews, 50 runs came for Mathews off 60 balls. 300 runs came for Sri Lanka in 73.2 overs and then in 79.6 overs P Jayawardene went out with 43 runs and Sri Lanka were 329/6. Then Kulasekara joined Mathews and scored 30 runs, in 84.6 overs Kulasekara went out with 12 runs and Sri Lanka were 359/7. immediately after losing Kulasekara wicket Herath left the field with just 1 run in 87.2 overs. Then Muralitharan joined Mathews and play came to the end of day's play in 89 overs. At stumps Sri Lanka were 366 for 8 wickets with Mathews 86* and Muralitharan 0*.

For India Harbhajan Singh took 4 wickets, Ojha took 2 wickets and Z Khan & Sreesanth each took 1 wicket.
